Requirements for Full-Time and Part-Time Employment:
  • An applicant must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Have at least a high school diploma or higher educational degree.
  • Have at least two years of prior childcare experience that can be documented and which may include paid and
    volunteer activities, such as: babysitting, camp counselor, tutor, teacher’s aide, coach, , school externship
    or daycare employment.
  • Two valid references of childcare experience that can be verified.
  • Must apply for and pass background checks with the 1) Pennsylvania State Police, 2) the Pennsylvania Child
    Abuse Screening, and 3) the FBI Fingerprint Screening.
  • Must take First Aide training, Fire Safety training, and Emergency Response training while employed at Li'l Tykes.
  • Must have a physical by a licensed physician prior to employment, take the Mantoux (TB) test and submit a
    health care assessment from the physician attesting to your fitness to work around children and in a childcare center.
  • Must agree to take an additional 12 hours or more of classroom training each year that you are employed at Li'l Tykes
    in childcare related courses. Notation: applicants presently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
    in Education may be exempt from this requirement, but must provide a class schedule of their registered courses.
  • Must provide two valid forms of identification (including one with a photo) from federal, state and/or local
    government   agencies. Examples include a driver’s license, birth certificate, social security card, voter registration
    card or passport. A school ID with photo may be substituted as one source of identification.
  • Must schedule an appointment for an employment interview at Li'l Tykes.
